URNRD Accepting Variance Applications
URNRD Accepting Variance Applications
The Upper Republican NRD is accepting variance applications until Jan. 4, 2021 for the certification of new irrigated acres and allocation that would necessitate drilling a new well for the 2021 irrigation season. Certifying new irrigated acres that require drilling an irrigation well and offsetting them by eliminating existing uses requires a variance to the URNRD rules, and such variance requests to the URNRD are not uncommon. In order to make analysis and consideration of such requests more efficient, the URNRD has established an application process. For the 2021 irrigation season, all variance applications to certify new irrigated acres that would be irrigated from a new well must be received by 4 p.m., January 4, 2021. If you want to apply for such a transfer, please contact Julia Strand at the URNRD via phone or email. The URNRD phone number is 888-883-9066 and Julia’s email address is jstrand@urnrd.org. The location of new certified acres, well, and offset uses eliminated must be included at the time of application.
