Precipitation Data Available on URNRD Website
The Upper Republican Natural Resources District (URNRD) has new Perkins County precipitation data available on its website.
The Nebraska Water Balance Alliance (NEWBA) has installed 10 new precipitation recording sites within the HUC-12 watershed northwest and southeast of Grant as part of a project to measure water inputs and uses within the watershed. The Nebraska Rainfall Assessment and Information Network (NeRAIN) is also involved in the project and NEWBA board member and Grant resident Ted Tietjen operates and maintains the recording sites. Precipitation data can be viewed in hourly, daily, and monthly totals and is available from the time the station started operating up to the past 24 hours.
The URNRD is displaying the data on its website so that water users in our District can have the most amount of data available to them which can aid in making smarter water usage decisions. The link to the website is available here. While on that page, you can also view evapotranspiration (ET) data from the three weather/ET stations the URNRD has as well as check precipitation levels from any of the 13 URNRD owned precipitation stations throughout our District.
