No Stream Augmentation Needed in 2024
The URNRD's Rock Creek and NCORPE augmentation projects will not need to be operated in 2024. It marks the sixth year in a row neither project has beeen operated. An agreement reached in 2016 by the three Republican River Compact states of Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado is the primary reason - it ties augmentation pumping to the volume of irrigation water in Harlan County Lake instead of estimates of Nebraska's upcoming Compact shortfall.
